Cavotec Will Supply the Ports of Long Beach and Oakland with a Shore-to-ship Electrical System
Cavotec, a Maritime technology company, has won the contract to provide the Port of Long Beach and the Port of Oakland with Alternative Maritime Power (AMP) shore-to-ship electrical systems. This system will help ensure that the ports’ safety and environmental performance standards are met. Once implemented the system will allow a ships to connect to grid-generated electricity. This will both reduce fuel consumption and improve air quality in ports and surrounding communities.
