Changes to Australia Visa Application Charges

 The Australian government increased some visa application charges (VAC) effective January 1, 2012. Please note that most charges are increasing by five to 15 percent. It has also proposed that as of July 2013, additional fees will be levied for each dependent to be included in a visa application. Currentl, the visa application fee covras all dependents included in a visa application.

The Australia government also proposes additional charges to be progressively implemented over the next 18 months. These charges will be added for:

  • Longer duration visas;
  • Paperapplications where an online option is  available; and
  •  Optional services, such as visa labels, which are not currentl required as the Austraillian immigration system is electronically monitored.
